Sweden's environmental objectives – for a sustainable society
We shall solve our own environmental problems: we will not pass them on to future generations. Sweden has adopted 16 environmental quality objectives that provide beacons for all environmental work in Sweden, no matter where it is carried out, or by whom. The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency has overall responsibility that the environmental objectives are achieved.

We have selected some of the most interesting Swedish environmental projects to form a knowledge base – the Best Practice Examples. We want to focus attention on municipalities’ environmental activities, disseminate knowledge and stimulate replication.
