International PCB Workshop in 2010
The Sixth International PCB Workshop, entitled Persistent Pollutants Require Persistent Solutions, will be held in Visby, Sweden, from 30 May to 2 June 2010.
This workshop will discuss state-of-the-art knowledge of the distribution and effects of polychlorinated biphenyls, the environmental pollutants commonly known as ‘PCBs’. Current and potential measures to reduce their future impact are also on the agenda.
Scientists and representatives from agencies involved in the field are invited to make presentations, both oral and in the form of posters. These contributions should clarify the importance of issues related to PCBs and their presence in the environment. The workshop will cover a range of aspects, from analytical issues to the effects of PCBs on the environment and human health. Sessions on how to reduce PCB exposure, including practical and legal implications, will be included.
The venue for the workshop is Visby, the medieval town on the beautiful island of Gotland in the central Baltic Proper.
