Environmental monitoring data

The Swedish EPA, as the funding body of the Swedish national environmental monitoring programme, owns the data collected. This data may be used freely provided the source is referenced. Copyright of data funded by other bodies, such as county administrative boards or water associations, is retained by the respective owner.

Data funded by the Swedish EPA may generally be downloaded or requested free of charge over the Internet. Special orders, however, may incur a cost depending on the amount of data requested and the form in which it is to be delivered.

Sources of data downloads

Data from environmental monitoring is available through the links in the table below, where they are grouped by topic. The column entitled “Type of data hosted” contains links to pages where you can find data, maps, and in some cases mapping services. You will also find descriptions of data formats, quality assurance systems and study methods. Data is available from on-going and past studies.
