The value of our marine environment

During two sunny days in September approximately 150 people gathered in Stockholm to take part in the international conference "The Value of our Marine Environment".

The value of our marine environmentThe aim of the conference was to look at ways of integrating the value of marine ecosystem services into decision making, so that policies are designed to achieve sustainable management of these ecosystems.

The conference was being held under the auspices of the Swedish EU Presidency in autumn 2009.

Below you can find the PowerPoint presentations from the conference as well as a PDF-file with abstracts of the presentations, speakers’ profile and a summary of the conference.

The collective value of the ecosystem services of our seas is so great that we cannot afford to lose them. We must act now.
