Up to 25 GtCO2-eq. emissions between now and 2050 could be eliminated through the phase-out of Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs). Such phase-out will also bring a net benefit of advancing the recovery of the ozone layer by up to 3.3 years. |

Air pollution and children's respiratory health |

In children, air pollution may cause, contribute to or aggravate respiratory diseases, which are a major cause of their ill-health. A report from the Swedish EPA summarises and evaluates the findings of recent epidemiological studies of how short- and long-term exposure to traffic-related air pollution affects respiratory health and allergic sensitisation in children.

Consumption puts significant pressure on the environment in other countries
